At Foundation House, we believe in the transformative power of young voices to create lasting change. This month, in partnership with UN Women, we brought the Uniting Against Gender-Based Violence project to life in the schools of Gjakovë, Dragash, and Gjilan, empowering students to take a stand and lead the charge for equality and dignity.
At the High School of Economy “Kadri Kusari,” High School “Ruzhdi Berisha,” and High School of Medicine “Asllan Elezi,” young leaders embarked on a three-day journey of discovery, empowerment, and action. Through hands-on trainings, they explored the harsh realities of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and learned how to amplify their voices against it. These sessions equipped them with the tools and confidence to design campaigns that resonate beyond the classroom, igniting conversations and inspiring change in their schools and communities.
The training sessions weren’t just about raising awareness—they were a catalyst for fostering critical thinking, sparking creativity, and challenging deeply ingrained societal norms and stereotypes. Together, these students laid the groundwork for a future rooted in inclusion, equity, and respect for all.
This initiative is part of the Foundation House and UN Women’s broader project, “Addressing the Impacts of Gender-Based Violence in Kosovo and Empowering Survivors to Overcome Stigma and Speak Out,” supported by the British Embassy Pristina.
To the changemakers who participated in these sessions: thank you for your courage, your dedication, and your unwavering commitment to building a safer, more equitable future. You are the leaders of today and the hope for tomorrow.
