We are thrilled to share that our EmpowerHer! initiative has been featured on Giving Balkans. This program is dedicated to enhancing access to non-formal education in STEM fields for girls in rural areas of Kosovo, aiming to bridge the educational gaps they often face.
Our Senior Program Manager, Adelina Qarri-Hoxha, emphasizes the significance of this initiative:
“EmpowerHer! is more than just education; it’s about giving girls the tools to reimagine their future and know they can achieve anything.”
Adelina shared some more information around the campaign, highlighting the beneficiaries of this initiative, and the road to success we indulged in. In her interview, Adelina explained that the campaign focuses on girls aged 11-18 from families facing financial difficulties and marginalized communities, including Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian groups.
By collaborating with companies that provide STEM education services, we aim to offer scholarships and opportunities to those with potential, ensuring inclusivity and equal access to education. To fund this ambitious project, we launched our first crowdfunding campaign through KosovaIDeas, engaging the community to support and invest in the education of these young girls. This approach not only raises funds but also educates the public on the importance of developing girls from rural areas.
