EmpowerHer!

Launched in early 2024, EmpowerHer was created to challenge a deeply rooted reality: despite the growing demand for skilled professionals in the digital economy, young women remain vastly underrepresented in STEM fields. For many, this is not a matter of choice but of circumstance. Social expectations, financial constraints, and a lack of access to quality education have historically pushed them away from opportunities that could change their lives.

EmpowerHer was designed to dismantle these obstacles, ensuring that girls from all backgrounds, especially those in rural, marginalized communities, and those who face financial difficulties have the chance to build their futures in technology and innovation.

EmpowerHer provides fully funded scholarships to 150 girls across Kosovo, giving them access to STEM education, coding courses, robotics training, and IT skills that can shape their futures. Through structured mentorship programs, these young women are connected with female leaders in the tech industry, women who have defied expectations and now stand as role models.

EmpowerHer was made possible through a groundbreaking crowdfunding effort on the KosovaIdeas platform, where individuals, businesses, and diaspora members came together to raise over €24,000, surpassing the campaign’s goal. This outpouring of support demonstrated that Kosovo’s people believe in the power of education and the potential of their daughters. By supporting these young women today, EmpowerHer is shaping the economy of tomorrow.

When girls gain access to quality education and the tools they need to succeed, they do not just improve their own lives but they uplift entire communities. They become engineers, developers, scientists, and entrepreneurs, driving innovation, boosting economic growth, and breaking cycles of poverty

The impact of EmpowerHer is already unfolding, but its true power will be measured in the years to come. The young girls who receive these scholarships will go on to university, enter the workforce, and become leaders in fields where women are still vastly underrepresented. They will inspire the next generation, showing that the limitations imposed on them were never real to begin with.
